Fuck you Very Much, Jenny McCarthy and Bill Maher! and RFK Jr.

Google the phrase measles+outbreak+2011.

You'll find an alarming increase in the number of cases in 2011, the largest number on record since 1996.  Unvaccinated persons accounted for 105 (89%) of the 118 cases.

This is partly because of an uneducated populace deciding that a photogenic celebrity and a funny douche-bag are more credible on matters on science, than, well those darned scientists. Jenny's crusade even has a prop.  Her autistic son. But what gives her the testicular fortitude to denounce vaccinations?

A larcenous fellow named  Dr. Andrew Wakefield.  He published a study in 1998 showing an inexorable link between vaccines and autism. Gullible idiots desperate for an answer, even a wrong one, accepted it. Every peer review that followed, cast doubt for they were unable to reproduce the results cited in the studies.

But when the BMJ concluded, after a lengthy and thorough investigation that "not one of the 12 cases reported in the 1998 Lancet paper was free of misrepresentation or undisclosed alteration, and that in no single case could the medical records be fully reconciled with the descriptions, diagnoses, or histories published in the journal", it should have been an "Oh shit, this is the Bernie Madoff of vaccinations!" moment.

It hasn't been. Britain has even revoked Andrew Wakefield's medical license. That should have given the knuckle draggers pause for thought.

Nope!

Jenny McCarthy has doubled down. Even Bill Frist, a proud member of the anti-science political party known as the GOP, could not convince Maher.

To date there exists no study that shows such a link.  Not a single peer-reviewed study. Not one. Every credible and responsible scientist in the field will strongly advise you to vaccinate your child. Yes, like anything else, there are risks with vaccines. Just like there are risks with aspirin. Consult a physician if you want to know how minute these are and how much you should be concerned.

So if you ever meet Jenny McCarthy or Bill Maher, tell them from me, "Fuck you very much!" and direct them here, or to this site.

[Update 7/28/2013] Fuck you too, RFK Jr.

Consider following a half wit who denounces vaccinations due their "health risk" but is a fan of Botox injections, well, because being hot is more important that considering the health and welfare of the public at large.
