There have been few tennis players who do an interview better than Roddick. I love the guy, because he competes hard with his rather uni-dimensional game, even if it is increasingly obvious that it is not holding up. But cut the guy some slack, he has been injured and unable to play for large chunks of the summer, and is only 29. He is ranked in the top 25, and still has a legitimate chance to end up in the top ten for the eleventh straight year, a distinction shared currently only with Roger Federer.
A perfect response to an irritatingly vacuous question. I wish more players would use that line, when a stumped-for-questions reporter asks an inane question after a tough loss.
